Purebred - an organism that has genes that are the same.

Example: RR (R = red)

The letters R and R are the same, so an animal with RR would be considered a purebred.

An animal with WW (W = white) would also be a purebred. However, an animal with RW would not be a purebred. A red (R) and a white (W) gene are not the same.
